This antibody is not suitable for use in a Reverse Phase Protein Array format as described in SOP M-105.
Result: Presumed Positive (with additional bands)
Western blot using CPTC-ITGAX-1 as primary antibody against human integrin, alpha X (complement component 3 receptor 4 subunit) (ITGAX) transient overexpression lysate (lane 2). Expected molecular weight - 127.8 kDa. Molecular weight standards are also included (lane 1). Target protein is subject to glycosylation which can affect the migration in electrophoresis. This can make the target appear as a higher molecular weight protein.
Result: Positive
Automated western blot using CPTC-ITGAX-1 as primary antibody against PBMC (lane 2), HeLa (lane 3), Jurkat (lane 4), A549 (lane 5), MCF7 (lane 6), and NCI-H226 (lane 7) whole cell lysates. Expected molecular weight - 127.8 kDa. Molecular weight standards are also included (lane 1). A549 and NCI-H226 are positive.
HeLa and MCF7 are presumed positive. All other cell lines are negative. Target protein is subject to glycosylation which can affect the migration in electrophoresis. This can make the target appear as a higher molecular weight protein.

Western blot using CPTC-ITGAX-1 as primary antibody against human lung (2), spleen (3), endometrium (4), breast (5), and ovary (6) tissue lysates. The expected molecular weight is 127.8 kDa. Vinculin was used as a loading control.

Function:
his gene encodes the integrin alpha X chain protein. Integrins are heterodimeric integral membrane proteins composed of an alpha chain and a beta chain. This protein combines with the beta 2 chain (ITGB2) to form a leukocyte-specific integrin referred to as inactivated-C3b (iC3b) receptor 4 (CR4). The alpha X beta 2 complex seems to overlap the properties of the alpha M beta 2 integrin in the adherence of neutrophils and monocytes to stimulated endothelium cells, and in the phagocytosis of complement coated particles. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.ITGAX (Integrin Subunit Alpha X) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with ITGAX include Hairy Cell Leukemia and Benign Cephalic Histiocytosis. Among its related pathways are Integrin Pathway and Degradation of the extracellular matrix. An important paralog of this gene is ITGAD.Integrin alpha-X/beta-2 is a receptor for fibrinogen. It recognizes the sequence G-P-R in fibrinogen. It mediates cell-cell interaction during inflammatory responses. It is especially important in monocyte adhesion and chemotaxis.
