Antigen Name:

Forkhead Box Q1 Peptide 1

CPTC Name:

CPTC-FOXQ1 Peptide 1

Aliases:

Forkhead Box Q1; Hepatocyte Nuclear Factor 3 Forkhead Homolog 1; HNF-3/Forkhead-Like Protein 1; HFH-1; HFH1; Winged Helix/Forkhead Transcription Factor; Forkhead Box Protein Q1

Function:

FOXQ1 is a member of the FOX gene family, which is characterized by a conserved 110-amino acid DNA-binding motif called the forkhead or winged helix domain. FOX genes are involved in embryonic development, cell cycle regulation, tissue-specific gene expression, cell signaling, and tumorigenesis (Bieller et al., 2001 [PubMed 11747606]).

FOXQ1 (Forkhead Box Q1) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with FOXQ1 include Ritscher-Schinzel Syndrome. Among its related pathways are Preimplantation Embryo. Gene Ontology (GO) annotations related to this gene include DNA binding transcription factor activity and RNA polymerase II transcription factor activity, sequence-specific DNA binding. An important paralog of this gene is FOXD2.

Plays a role in hair follicle differentiation.
