Click to enlarge image Western blot using CPTC-CSF2RA-1 as primary antibody against human colony stimulating factor 2 receptor, alpha, low-affinity (granulocyte-macrophage) (CSF2RA), transcript variant 1, recombinant protein (lane 2). Expected molecular weight - 44.1 kDa. Molecular weight standards are also included (lane 1). Target protein is subject to glycosylation which can affect the migration in electrophoresis. This can make the target appear as a higher molecular weight protein. Click image to enlarge

Function:

The protein encoded by this gene is the alpha subunit of the heterodimeric receptor for colony stimulating factor 2, a cytokine which controls the production, differentiation, and function of granulocytes and macrophages. The encoded protein is a member of the cytokine family of receptors. This gene is found in the pseudoautosomal region (PAR) of the X and Y chromosomes. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene, with some of the isoforms being membrane-bound and others being soluble.CSF2RA (Colony Stimulating Factor 2 Receptor Subunit Alpha) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with CSF2RA include Surfactant Metabolism Dysfunction, Pulmonary, 4 and Hereditary Pulmonary Alveolar Proteinosis. Among its related pathways are RET signaling and Signaling by GPCR. Gene Ontology (GO) annotations related to this gene include cytokine receptor activity. An important paralog of this gene is IL3RA.Low affinity receptor for granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor. Transduces a signal that results in the proliferation, differentiation, and functional activation of hematopoietic cells.
